Thank God for Mary McDonald. Seriously. Coral orange, pale aqua, chocolate brown zebra and an obelisk. My, my, my. I absolutely adore rooms that commit to a color palette where fabrics, accessories and furniture don't stray from a set array of hues...it's so sophisticated. And this is truly one of the most sophisticated spaces I've ever seen.
It's shaping up to be a great weekend - I will be toasting two dear friends for their birthdays AND Carter and I are rolling up our sleeves and finally tackling the paint job of the master bedroom (which I have seriously been avoiding and procrastinating on). I'll be thrilled if we make a dent in that task this weekend.
Do share if you have a design adventure...
See you Monday!
Ha ha Daniela we are meant to be friends. I was just looking at my inspiration pictures and found that one in my folder and feel in love with it all over again. It reminds me of my LR, because I have a similar color/combo with a touch of zebra!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a fab weekend. Still working on emailing you back! Should be caught up with work by this evening and then I can write, write, write.
xo,

I love it too!! I am saving this one!
ReplyDeleteMary McDonald definitely ranks in my top 5 favorite designers and this shot is one of my very favorites.
ReplyDeletePS - Hung up that great chinoiserie pendant in my bathroom last weekend. It's GORGEOUS. Pictures will come next week!
I just found your blog via Erica at Stark. (I just started my own a couple of weeks ago.) I am enjoying reading back and look forward to following along. Beautiful room...love the mirror.
ReplyDeleteI love this too, but sometimes rooms that stick so completely to a color palette seem too contrived for my taste--like they're trying too hard. In this example, I think it's the accessories that keep the room from feeling too "matchy matchy." Thoughts?
ReplyDeleteThanks to Chinoiserie Chic, I now know who MM is and I love her! What a gorgeous photo! Thanks!
