DIY Monogram Roller Shade
Did you catch this great DIY roller shade a couple of issues back in Southern Living? Of course the monogram caught my eye, but I was more in love with how simple this would be to create - the monogram is a vinyl decal! Just peel and stick on a standard shade.
Remember my thought to monogram a lampshade like this - well here is a great example in a larger scale...and I love the results!
Not to mention I adore that monogram...SL sourced sunnyspaint.com as a place to get a similar monogram, and I am drooling over their selection. Their decals are a little different than the usual monograms (some have the slightest Leontine flair) and they each come in a large selection of colors so you can customize for your room:
Fabulous, right? Click here to purchase one of these monograms...
I'll also note that the SL DIY was actually for painting a roller shade with a stencil (the monogram was the "short cut" option)...and I also liked those results and they have some great instructions to follow. Read the feature here...

Great idea, and very good looking. Roller shades can be good even on windows that also have curtains in my opinion. They can block out more light, and they can be nice looking as your post demonstrates. You have a terrific blog!
ReplyDeleteThank you HH...I agree that these would look dynamite layered with curtains!
ReplyDeleteI like these monograms. They're much more sophisticated than most vinyl decals I've seen.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your response Daniela. I think a valance looks nice to cover the shade so you don't see the ends of the roller for the most part...more expensive, but it looks well. You've got great colors on your blog, both the entries and the design of your site too.
ReplyDeleteDid you realize that Sunny's Goodtime Paints is based in your hometown of Richmond, VA? Perhaps you knew already, but it's a very cute little shop on Grove (and Libbie). I didn't know they did these monograms, and I'm not generally a monogram kind of girl, but this has me intrigued! Maybe I'll stop by. Maybe you can come to Richmond and go with me!
ReplyDeleteJo, dear, you have been on my mind. Note to self: Write Jo email. And NO, I did not know they were a Richmond business. Makes me love them even more...you'll need to check it out! (And yes, I need to go see it with you)
ReplyDeleteAmazing, I love it! Super chic ♥
ReplyDeleteI did notice that SL DIY feature and even put the source in my phone but forgot to look at their site. They are great. I must find a place to put one immediately!
ReplyDeleteI would love to try this in my house...I am not very good with DIY projects but I have been lusting over the monogram curtain look for a while.
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOSH, I ADORE THESE, DANIELA!!!
ReplyDeleteI have a serious thing w/ monograms, I mean I really REALLY heart them. If I had a tattoo, it would be of my own monogram. Well... or a greek key running around my bicep. Hmmmm, tough call. But wow, these are GREAT! xo
This is the cutest thing I have ever seen!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE. I need them for my bedroom!
