Scalamandre's Jambalaya (get ready for a roller coaster ride of color):
Yowza! This stuff is gorgeous. And the fabric's texture is polished and crisp (kinda feels like silk). Why am I so enthusiastic? Other than just being a fabric nut? I just made pillows in the blue colorway (second to last) and they are completely and totally lovely. I can't stop staring at them.
And these color combos are unique, don't you think? So many colors in each fabric but they work together so beautifully to create a unified palette.
Which is your favorite? See them all here...
THIS is the fabric I've been waiting for: sure, a pillow covered in a Tilt-a-Whirl stripe would liven up an otherwise sedate room, but what I really like about this one is the way its giddy colorways give you license to drag in any other colors you might want, and although it seems counter-intuitive, the more colors a room already has, the more it can have. Eventually, all the competing colors cancel each other out and serenity & balance are restored.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile--while you wait for that to happen, and for the spinning to stop--#4 is my favorite, probably because of its adjacent red & yellow stripes.
Can you show us a picture of the pillows sometime? Love these fabrics!
ReplyDeleteBeing from New Orleans, I love the title of this post. Being a partner in Casart Coverings, I couldn't help but be reminded of our multi AND individual stripes available in repositionable, removable and reusable wallcovering. Love the Scalamandre colorways. So bright, so cheerful. A fun way to breeze through the summer!
