Friday Crush

Do y'all remember Trina and Mike Burke (and their adorable twins) who renovated this BANANAS farmhouse in Oregon? Well, the family has recently moved East (would love to know where) and Trina just blogged about their new farmhouse purchase and the renovation potential is just overwhelming. I'm literally on the edge of my seat waiting for her blog posts now...to see what they come up with in this house. It's going to be amazing...keep up with their progress here.

Enjoy your Labor Day weekend!!! We're off for a final jaunt to the beach (or as Ana Claire calls it, "the pool"...probably should have corrected her by now). See you next week!

Tilton Fenwick for Target

On the heels of my Tilton Fenwick + Land of Nod collaboration discovery, I have come to find out that Tilton Fenwick now has a line for Target! These savvy ladies are taking over the world.

The line has curvaceous pieces available in some of their signature fabrics and everything has a decidedly feminine flair...I love it.

I am especially fond of the first skirted chair with its dipped back, the Cecilia headboard in pink and that lovely winged velvet bed. The pieces mix, match and coordinate quite well...I could certainly fill a bedroom with many of these items.

Check out the full line here...any favorites?

Pink Green Chiang Mai Table from Parker Kennedy

If you are a lover of Chinoiserie and don't follow Parker Kennedy Living on Instagram, you should remedy that. Tons of bamboo, vintage, preppy color combos and dose upon dose of inspiration.

The Atlanta-based design duo behind the firm - Lance Jackson and David Ecton - recently put together a pink and green Chiang-Mai-dragon-inspired to-die-for table setting for a charity event that was quite enjoyable to watch come together over Instagram:

Loved seeing their ideas evolve and end in such a gorgeous culmination of prep and Chinoiserie on a gorgeous table. Setting a table is an art form and these guys are masters.

Check out more of their goodies on Instagram...

Friday Crush

A peek at Eddie Ross' apartment per his Instagram account. I seriously don't know what element I love most but that peacock fireplace, Chinoiserie screen, chartreuse chair and awesome rug are all contenders. What an amazing vignette - you know his home must be an eye-popper. I believe they are photographing it for Better Homes & Gardens...will keep my eyes peeled for that issue!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! See you next week!

Nate Berkus for Joann

In other partnership news, Nate Berkus has designed a line of fabrics for Joann. Per the usual, his neutrals are just completely on point.

That second one is incredibly charming with its understated pattern and soft color. I love it for a bedroom mixed with aloe green.

He also has some sassier numbers to choose from:

Just some of the great choices that are reasonably priced (though there are a couple of fancy options that hit the $50/yd mark). Check out the full Nate Berkus for Joann collection here...

And don't forget that Joann is a coupon retailer so you can almost always find a coupon to discount a regularly priced item and a cut of fabric counts as just that.

Another well-done collection for the masses from Mr. Berkus.

Palm Frond Wallpaper

Are you a lover of a good palm motif, especially in wallpaper? If so, you're welcome, because I found a pretty amazing palm frond wallpaper that is crazy easy on the wallet:

It's by allen + roth at Lowe's and it's pretty much a dead-ringer for some of the nicer palm papers out there. BUT, it's only $40 for a double roll!

It's also pretty convenient in that it's pre-pasted, peelable and you can clean it...meaning that it's likely not heirloom stuff you'd put up in your forever dining room but would be perfect for a powder room or kitchen where you want to have a bit of fun without committing to decades of use. And when Ana Claire your kid writes on it with a crayon, there's hope it might come out.

I'm all for it. How about you?

Friday Crush

Home of Julian and Olatz Schnabel

I hate posting an image with no source (anyone know it?) but this one completely caught my eye on MFAMB this week.  Mostly because that pillow has my monogram but also because I LOVE the rich raspberry curtains paired with violet shams, a powder blue headboard and seagreen walls. It all works to create such a rich vignette.

I can taste fall in the air...or is it just wishful thinking? Hope you have a fantastic weekend...see you next week!

Catalog Pick: Land of Nod + Tilton Fenwick

Did y'all know Land of Nod was offering many of its upholstered pieces in Tilton Fenwick's fabrics for Duralee, including (one of) my favorite, Cecilia? That's big news. How am I just seeing this?

My absolute favorite result of this partnership is the As You Wish Upholstered Settee:

Words cannot describe how much I love this fabric on a settee! I really want the yellow one...a pair of these facing each other in a living room would be absolutely amazing.

And you can pick up a headboard in Geniesse:

Or a swivel chair in Eze:

To name a few.

Although there will always be room for the uniqueness of to-the-trade offerings, it does make me excited that a small collection from a very now-and-fresh fabric line can be purchased very easily by anyone...decoration for all of the people!

Schumacher Bombay

Schumacher's new Simply Charming wallpaper collection landed in my inbox last week and I quickly found a new favorite pattern...

I'll take them all but contestant #2 won my heart. That lovely pinwheel pattern in the sweetest shade of blue. It's called Bombay in Delft and I need it:

I'm a nut for anything that is french blue/periwinkle and I just find the adorable pinwheels so....charming! Would love to see this in a little boy bathroom, in a blue/white kitchen, gracing the walls of a cottage guest room...I could go on.

Of course Bombay comes in many colorways and my second favorite combination is COMPLETELY different:

Yowza. Gilt brings the sultry shine...perrrrrfect for a high glam powder room with a black mirror and Moroccan lantern.

What do you think? A new favorite for you too?

Friday Crush

I think know I say this ever year, but I'm ready for fall. Summer just is not my jam so I get a little impatient once August hits. I've always loved this photo from A Country Farmhouse and it encapsulates how I'm feeling right now. The big events of the summer are over and I'm just waiting for the final warm days to make way for fall's cool breezes. I can imagine myself coming down into this foyer one morning and feeling a sweet chill that sends me back upstairs to grab my slippers. Yes, these are the things I think about.

If summer IS your jam, I hope you enjoy another warm weekend doing something fun. Have a great one...see you next week!

Angie Hranowsky: The Rucker Home

Charleston-based Angie Hranowsky is always on my short list of favorite designers. She has the magic touch - great mix of color, texture, style...and it all seems so effortless when you look at one of her finished spaces.

I was thrilled to see the home she designed for Darius Rucker and family as featured on Domaine:

All photos by Julia Lynn

Love the high-contrast, boho, art-filled spaces she created in this comfortable home. I mean, it's clearly high-end design, but it feels so warm and approachable. And I always LOVE Angie's use of rosy pinks, lavenders, and orchid. She does that color range justice.

The best part of the Domaine feature is that it's shoppable...so as you look through the many photos, there are links to key pieces that you can buy to recreate the look. Check out all the photos here...

Jenny: An Affordable de Gournay Alternative

Let's be clear - getting real deal, hand-painted de Gournay wallpaper is on our wish list. For me, the fulfillment of that dream is not in my immediate future so I'm on a pretty constant search to find reasonable substitutes.

I may have just hit gold, y'all. You may be familiar with Spoonflower artist Andrea Whalen of shop domesticate. Her shop carries many popular prints that are made affordable via Spoonflower's DIY framework.

Well, she has outdone herself. Check out Jenny Modern Peony - my favorite take on luxurious, handmade Chinoiserie papers:

The colorways are beautiful and since it's Spoonflower, you can get the print as fabric and/or wallpaper...all for an affordable price. And that's not all the shop has to offer...Andrea has created a bevy of Asian designs that I know you will love - check them out here.

So what do you think? Am I right that this is one of the best affordable solutions for those of us lusting for high-end Chinoiserie wallpapers and fabrics?

Friday Crush

Feeling very good about this black and white cottage kitchen from Better Homes & Gardens. I might ditch the slightly country decorative accents but I am completely smitten with the black backsplash, beadboard ceiling and white cabinets. I will always be loyal to a black and white kitchen and this small one packs a visual punch. Let's note the black backsplash again - great, great (simple) idea.

I am off for the wedding weekend of a very good friend taking place in my beloved Charlottesville...hope your weekend is as killer as mine is going to be. See you next week!
