Friday Crush

File this under "If I Was a Millionaire"...these would be my dining chairs. Complete with custom Leontine monogram. That Jane Scott is a stylish woman. How awesome would a set of these be for your Easter table? Or, I guess I could settle for just one as a desk chair. I absolutely love how the splendid monogram pops on the purple.

Pretty low-key weekend around here. Hope you're up to something fun. Enjoy it and see you next week!

Felt Applique Pillows on Etsy

I have long since had this handmade bunny pillow from Etsy shop Cheeky Monkey Home on my favorites list. The sweet pink tone, adorable pom fringe and frolicking bunnies caught my eye and the upcoming Easter holiday reminded me that I should share it with you.

It also comes in blue and a pair would be just about the cutest accent on twin beds in a shared boy/girl bedroom.

If you love these pillows like I do, you'll fall in love with this Etsy seller whose whimsical felt pillow creations are completely delightful. All you need is one to inject a space with fun:

^^I think Mac needs this one for his non-existent nursery^^

That last one is actually a custom silhouette of your little one! That's amazingly cute.

If you had no idea these pillows were out there, you're welcome.

Friday Crush

Design by Melissa Haynes

Ok, I'm cheating a little bit because this room is from yesterday's post and I held on to it for today because it's SO GOOD. I thought it needed it's own post. THAT RUG. The chair trim. The grasscloth. It's like a mullet room - business on the top, party on the bottom. I'm just so in love...if that rug wasn't there, we can all agree this room would be lovely and vanilla. But that rug just makes it - I'm all for a fantastic juxtaposition.

Go forth and juxtapose. Have a great weekend and see you next week!

Neutrals from Melissa Haynes

Now this is how I love neutrals. Varied shades, textures, layers...with small, well-tailored shots of color. This gorgeousness is from Arkansas-based designer Melissa Haynes.

I would classify this home as incredibly classic but there is nothing stuffy or boring about it. Just the right amount of pattern and modern elements are used to give it a crazy chic vibe that is quite fetching.

What do you think? Do you like your neutrals even more tailored? Or are neutrals always a no-no for you?

Online Trim Source

I find that sourcing home dec trim online is a bit tougher than finding fabric. Often the selection is way too much and includes craft trim that one wouldn't use on curtains or pillows. So I was happy to see the lovely selection offered online by Richmond(woot!)-based ufabstore.com.

Trim is your best friend when it comes to adding the final touch to a piece that sets it off...pillows, curtains, upholstery (think skirted pieces)...it all looks better when you add a sharp-looking accent trim. Some of my favorites from U-Fab:

If you like Greek key or lattice trims, this is a great place to look. I love that swirly number up there - would look fantastic trimming ecru curtains.

Check out the full selection of trim here...

Friday Crush

Grooms-to-be, take note. This is just about the coolest groomsmen's gift out there. A pair of double old fashioned glasses with Scalamandre's iconic zebra. Even if you are not a groom, wedding season is quickly approaching so you're welcome for a great wedding gift idea. I don't know a bride who wouldn't want these fashionable items gracing her bar!

The sun has made an appearance this week and I know one two-year-old who is thrilled to be back on the playground scene. Hope it's warming up near you. Have a fantastic weekend...see you next week!

Pagoda Placemat

I won't bury the lead. This is a placemat:

An awesome die cut pagoda placemat from Caspari. Die cut means it's actually cut in the silhouette of the pagoda...so it gives incredible dimension to a table. These would be bananas for Easter...or any holiday entertaining, really. I'm a huge fan and they are on my current wishlist.

Get a set here...

Citrus Delight

Design: Melissa Haynes, Photo: Hector Sanchez, via Southern Living

That orange lantern is outrageously good. And this space makes the case for white walls - they are crisp and fantastic paired with juicy, citrusy colors. But the upholstery on the Klismos chairs keeps everything in check so it doesn't get too colorful.

Simply stunning...the perfect inspiration for Spring.

Friday Crush

Thought you might like to check in on our little Mac. I can't BELIEVE he is two months, y'all. His newborn phase is just flying by me.

Like his sister, he has turned out to be a relatively easy baby and, as you can see, he doesn't hold back with his smiles. He also has the longest eyelashes I have ever seen. And two dimples. Basically, he is delicious.

Ana Claire is doing great in her big sister role. Overall, she is a big fan of Mac and loves bouncing him in his bouncy seat and popping his pacifier back in (which is incredibly helpful when I'm otherwise engaged). Here she is enjoying the snow we've been having:

Looking forward to thawing out a bit this weekend...hope yours is a good one. See you next week!

Vintage Chinoiserie Chairs via Etsy

Looky what I found during my latest Etsy search - awesome, unique chairs for the Chinoiserie lover.

Now, we've all seen fretwork Chippendale chairs and rattan chairs, but can we agree that these are above average? Definite statement pieces. I would love to see the fretwork chairs used as head chairs at a dining table juxtaposed with slick modern side chairs.

Didn't realize it as I was favoriting these items that they are from the same shop - AngelandIzzy - specializing in Palm Beach goodies. Definitely worth a look.

Robert Allen Chinoiserie High Low

Oh hey, y'all! I'm still here! I didn't plan to take all of February but there you go. Baby Mac is doing great and the adjustment to being a family of four is going well - not without its bumps, but I can't complain. Mac is 2 months old today! Where is the time going?

But enough about me, let's talk about some fantastic Chinoiserie fabric I came across recently. Both by Robert Allen - one budget-friendly, one not.

First, the lovely Neo Toile. So many colors - I love a good, colorful Chinoiserie toile:

Love the coral red. And it comes in a bunch of other colorways that skew quite modern.

Next, the bananas Hidden Temple:

 ^^ Eddie Ross ^^

LOVE the pink + aqua + green combination.

Now, if you haven't clicked the links, guess which is high and which is low.....to be honest, I would think both of these were high, but Neo Toile will only set you back $22 for a yard! That's pretty good, folks. And Hidden Temple is $96/yard which is pricey, but perfect in small doses (like pillows).

Missed you!
