Friends, my Friday Crush is Spain. The country. Because by the time you read this, I will be there!

Lucky, lucky me will be traveling to this marvelous corner of the Earth for work and I hope to sit in lovely tapas bars like the one above for days on end.

So deal me out for a week or so. I should be back to posting after the Memorial Day holiday.

Cuddle Chair

First of all, this is called a cuddle chair.

The Mimi Cuddle Chair, to be exact:

And it's available on One Kings Lane. For a generous sum of dollars.

But the scalloped canopy is everything. And the bamboo frame with those little floral/quatrefoil situations around the bottom. And the striped periwinkle (!) Sunbrella fabric. So luxe and ridiculously fetching.

Faux or No

I feel like I touch on this topic once a year...fake flowers. In general, I agree with the school of Say No to Faux.

But every once in a while, I spot a fake arrangement that makes me think twice. And if put in just the right spot where no one is examining it too closely, it can really look beautiful.

Getting a real arrangement like these would be lots of dollar bills. And keeping it alive is trouble. And then it dies. So your ROI is pretty low.

I do have a tall spray of fake forsythia tucked into the corner of my living room and I've never thought twice about it. It's great. But those are more like "stems" than flowers.

But these arrangements here are pretty on point. Enough to make me want to use them.

Friday Crush

I feel pretty solid about this choice. Showering with flamingos on the daily seems like a good idea. Pink + black + white is also a classic combination. Embrace the quirkiness in life and have fun.

Lavender Bedroom

Oy. It's one of those weeks where I squeeze my eyes and fists (at the same time) and wish for a clone. Not enough hours.

But this image put me at ease amidst my frenzy. Lavender and green is high on my list of favorite combinations and I find this bedroom so incredibly lovely. I would actually never go for a geometric wallpaper like that, but it totally works with the curtain fabric.

I also like that all the pretty gets anchored with khaki sheets, tailored bedskirt, neutral rug and heavy nightstand. It's what makes the whole room feel less sweet and more sophisticated.

Bonus point for the painted trim and the fact that those curtains (Rhododendron by Carleton Varney) remind me very much of the print in my own dining room.

Friday Crush

Cheers to my tiny bread-lovers...they take after their mama. 

Ana Claire and Mac are all joy and light, folks. I know Sunday is about me and my attempt to be winning at motherhood, but it really boils down to these two. And their bread chomping. And those little faces that I could squeeze all day. And I do - squeeze. A lot...and they don't like it.

Forbidden City Fabric

Looking for fabric for a client, I came across this gem. I will not bury the lead - it's $7.49/yard at Calico Corners.

That's insanity. It's called Forbidden City in Feather Gray.

If you like neutrals that kick it up a notch, this should be your jam. And if you use it for upholstery, I would highly suggest a contrast welt in that cinnamon tone.

My brain is hard at work thinking where I can use this...or perhaps I should just purchase and hoard. That's always an option.

Tiny Sconce

Did y'all catch this image on Chinoiserie Chic last week? If so, excuse the recycle, but I just had to point out one element. One tee-tiny element. That wee sconce.

Let's also note the imbalance of how the art and sconce are hung. I pretty much never measure when I hang things on walls and I feel good about that corner-cutting when I see arrangements like this. It might hurt your eyeballs, but it works just fine for me.

But back to that that petite pink sconce. It makes the vignette for me. It's diminutive size actually calls attention to it...and that pink shade is brilliant. I love using wall lighting - even if it's more for aesthetics than actual lighting...but you know that little thing casts a lovely soft glow when left on at night.
